Object Details

Magnets became part of a politician’s promotional toolkit in the 1980s. This example was made for one of Congresswoman Beverly Byron’s many re-election campaigns. It is a rarity for Byron: was thrifty campaigning for re–election, rarely conducting polls or running advertisements attacking her opponents. In March 1992, Byron’s hands–off approach to campaigning played a part in her surprising loss in the Democratic primary.
