Object Details

Virginia Jenckes organized a committee to promote President Franklin Roosevelt’s initiatives in 1933—just one way she expressed her ardent belief in New Deal programs. Jenckes felt that the New Deal’s broad domestic policy particularly affected women, and that it was important that she was in Congress to speak for women’s interests.
