Fans depicting African-American Members of Congress were popular from the 1950s into the 1970s. This 1971 version was produced the same year the Congressional Black Caucus was founded. Thirteen Representatives appear on the front, and the North Carolina life insurance company sponsoring the giveaway advertised on the reverse, leaving a spot for an individual broker to write a name and phone number.
