In April 1933, hundreds of Representatives moved from the overcrowded Cannon Building to the newly-constructed Longworth Building. A construction firm’s billboard reads “New Office Building, House of Representatives.” The trucks shown here brought furniture to the new building for 251 Members of Congress and scores of committees.
