Former newspaperman Benjamin Focht represented a Pennsylvania district on and off from 1907 until his death in 1937. In one of his early campaigns, he touted his ability to bring federal money to the district. The reverse of this card shows an image of a Beaux-Arts building, and states that it is the “type of Federal building” that Focht “procured for Chambersburg,” and promises future construction projects, “each costing the U.S. Government ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS.”
