In this Oversight and Government Reform Committee portrait, Chairman Darrell Issa poses with a historic Walter chair and desk—furniture that debuted in the new House Chamber in 1857. Two figures are barely discernable in the abstract background. To the left of Issa’s head is President Ronald Reagan. As if facing Reagan, the artist also painted President Abraham Lincoln with his back to the viewer, on the right side of the canvas.
