Object Details

Six Members visited President Harding at the White House in March 1922. Representatives Frank Mondell, Joseph Fordney, Horace Towner, Philip Campbell, Nicholas Longworth, and Simeon Fess paid a presidential house call to discuss bonuses for World War I veterans. Though Congress passed bonus legislation that year, the President vetoed it. Payments were ultimately authorized in 1936.
