Before representing Alaska in the House, Anthony Dimond worked as a teacher, lawyer, prospector, and miner. He served as a delegate in Washington, D.C., from 1933 to 1945. Dimond received Alaskan foods and crafts, brought to the Capitol by the “Alaska-Canada-United States Good-will Trail-blazing Tour.” A sign on the truck proclaimed that it was “hauling Matanuska potatoes to New York produce market.”
