Harris & Ewing, a photographic studio based in Washington, D.C., created luminous portraits in a distinctive style. Harris & Ewing captured Members of Congress, Presidents, actors, buildings, and events, and grew to be the most successful studio in the country during its heyday in the first half of the century.
