Object Details

When Cleveland Bailey’s campaign matchbook was handed out in 1950, it served not only the congressman but also three other Democratic candidates. The inside of the matchbook cover exhorted voters to vote a straight party ticket, reminding them of the New Deal’s effects on West Virginia: “If you are in your late thirties you will remember the early thirties.”
