Object Details

Representative Jay Le Fevre of New York emphasized his Republican Party affiliation on this campaign matchbook. The GOP elephant makes an appearance. So does the party name, twice. A pachyderm is a less common motif than a photograph of the candidate, but the abundance of text is typical of matchbooks from the 1940s.
