Object Details

The new House Doorkeeper Tom Kennamer and Sergeant at Arms William Russell pose for the press with the House mace, the traditional emblem of the authority of their positions. This was the beginning of Kennamer’s only Congress as Doorkeeper. The Doorkeeper and Sergeant at Arms worked together to maintain the security of the Chamber.
