Collection of the U.S. House of Representatives, Gift of Congressman James E. Rogan
Object Details
A combination of bald eagle and U.S. Capitol graced visitors’ gallery passes in the 1960s and 1970s. Beginning in the 19th century, the House printed tickets for the galleries, embellishing them with a variety of patriotic symbols. This example, signed (twice) by Representative John Culver of Iowa, was a cherished memento of a trip to see the House in action.
