George H. Tinkham, a Representative from Massachusetts, was an avid big game hunter, preferring safaris to campaigning. Nonetheless, he was re-elected many times and served in the House from 1915 to 1943. Tinkham opposed Prohibition and advocated for Black voting rights in the South.
