Team managers Mike Oxley and Martin Sabo posed for the 2001 Congressional Baseball Game program cover. This year was the beginning of an impressive eight-game winning streak for Oxley’s Republican team. During this streak, the team won three “trophy series,” in which the winner of a best-of-five game series is awarded a trophy.
