Ruth Pratt was involved in politics from the 1910s until the 1940s. Throughout her career as a legislator, from serving as the first woman New York City’s board of aldermen through two terms in the House, she was a fiscal hawk. This button reminded voters that she was not a newcomer but an incumbent Representative.
