Object Details

New Jersey Avenue, SW, between the New and Old House Office Buildings provided a new postcard-worthy vista of the Capitol. Published in the 1940s, this color halftone print of a photo printed on linen-textured paper was produced by Harris and Ewing, a well-established studio in Washington, which for many years provided journalists with photographs of breaking news in Washington, D.C.
