Biography

MCNULTY, Caleb J.; a Clerk from Pennsylvania; born in Washington County, Pa., circa 1816; member of the Ohio state house of representatives, 1841–1842; elected Clerk of the United States House of Representatives for the Twenty-eighth Congress and served until his dismissal on January 18, 1845 (December 6, 1843–January 18, 1845); unsuccessful candidate for election in 1844 to the Twenty-ninth Congress; private in the Ohio Militia in 1846; died in 1846, en route to the Mexican-American War; interment in Helena, Ark.
