HENSHAW, Edmund L., Jr., a Clerk from Virginia; born in Bowling Green, Caroline County, Va.; December 11, 1925; United States Army Air Force Reserves, 1943–1946; B.S., University of Maryland, College Park, Md., 1954; J.D., The George Washington University, Washington, D.C., 1955–1956; staff, Democratic National Congressional Committee, 1955–1972; executive director, Democratic National Congressional Committee, 1972–1975; appointed acting Clerk of the United States House of Representatives for the Ninety-third Congress and elected Clerk of the United States House of Representatives for the Ninety-fourth Congress and for the three succeeding Congresses until his resignation on January 3, 1983 (November 15, 1975–January 3, 1983); died on February 12, 1995, in Fairfax, Va.
