August 1850; ordained in the Methodist Church in 1868; pastor; elected Chaplain of the United States House of Representatives for the Fifty-third Congress (August 7, 1893–October 26, 1893); died October 26, 1893, in Washington, D.C.; interment in Wesley Freedom United Methodist Church Cemetery, Eldersburg, Md.*
