BRASKAMP, Bernard, a House Chaplain; born in Alton, Sioux County, Iowa, February 18, 1887; attended Northwestern Classical Academy, Orange City, Iowa; attended Grinnell College, Grinnell, Iowa; A.B., University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Mich., 1908; A.M., Princeton Theological Seminary, Princeton, N.J., 1911; M.Phil., Princeton University, Princeton, N.J., 1911; D.D., Hartford Theological Seminary, Hartford, Conn., 1930; ordained as a Presbyterian minister in 1911 in Brooklyn, N.Y.; pastor; elected Chaplain of the United States House of Representatives for the Eighty-first and for the eight succeeding Congresses (January 30, 1950–February 22, 1966); died on February 22, 1966, in Washington, D.C.
