In spring of 2017, the First Women in Congress exhibition opened in the U.S. Capitol, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Jeannette Rankin taking her seat as the first woman in the U.S. House of Representatives. This web exhibition complements the physical exhibition, using objects and documents to further explore the prominent issues addressed by Rankin, and the early generation of women Representatives who followed in her footsteps.
